I am a proud graduate of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and the University of Baltimore. I have always had a passion for positively impacting the lives of others. This passion for helping others has been a quality instilled by my parents and prompted me to study the field of Psychology so that I could gain a better understanding of how to assist and support others. Since stepping into the workforce, I have worked consistently with youth and families, fostering their growth and development.
Prior to my role as the College Retention Specialist I served as an Employment and Community Navigator working with a culinary training program to help students address any barriers that may have come up while they were pursuing their degree and also preparing them to enter the workforce.
My past work experiences in higher education, case management, non-profits, and workforce development have fueled my passion for supporting our youth. As a first-generation college student myself, I recognize the barriers our students may face on the journey to obtaining their degrees. As the College Retention Specialist at First Generation College Bound, I hope to help our students navigate and overcome these barriers to ultimately achieve success.
